Professional Summary

David Gyampo is a public relations professional who has a passion for welfare development in Africa through strategic, human-centered communications. He graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations and from NYU with a Master's Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. David also developed his skillset in corporate communications handling M&A, IPOs, bankruptcies and crisis communications for various blue chip clients with Joele Frank, a leading investor relations agency in New York. In his spare time, he enjoys creating music, reading on political history, and staying active on the soccer field.

Account Executive Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher

Provide strategic counsel, public relations and investor relations support to companies facing high-profile special situations, including hostile and friendly M&A transactions, shareholder activism, restructurings, spin-offs, IPOs, litigation, and other corporate crises.

Develop clear communications strategies for clients and draft necessary materials – for both external and internal audiences – including press releases, presentations, conference call scripts, investor talking points, Q&As and employee communications.

Research Intern IMANI Africa Center for Policy and Education

Initiated research on gas price formation effects in Ghanaian industrial development; focusing specifically on restructuring gas contract provisions for the benefit of locally impacted communities.

Contributed to World Bank’s Global Infrastructure and Advisory Unit transparency project – “From Disclosure to Development (D2D)” – by providing research-backed local perspective on Ghana’s extractive sector.

Compiled informational reports detailing important points and potential new research topics for IMANI during nationally broadcasted conferences and workshops.

Marketing and Communications Intern African Leadership Academy

Promoted ALA’s annual “Innovation Boot Camp” by contacting 50 leading South African schools that each registered five students.

 

Coordinated a television interview between six ALA students and a South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) affiliate to further promote ALA to the South African market.

Assisted ALA’s marketing personnel with reaching daily targets through tasks ranging from filling databases to transcribing interviews about the faculty experience at ALA.
